Had a good visit to FH/CP today.."Those were the days my friends." It is good to remember my sisters in recovery and to celebrate their successes. As the former program director, I saw this work touch many lives.

TO MY RECOVERY SISTA'S

Often times throughout our recovery walk, we may run into situations that are stressful and difficult to hanlde. When you experience those moments, do not QUIT! AND REMEMBER THIS PIECE

When things go wrong, as they sometime will.
When the road you're trudging seems all up hill.
When the funds are low and the debts are high.
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh
When care is pressing you down a bit.
Rest if you must but do not quit!

Life is queer with its twists and turns.
As everyone of us sometimes learns
And many a failure turns about
Don't give up though the pace seems slow.
You may succeed with another blow.

Success is failure turned inside out.
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt. ANd you never can tell how cloe your are it may be near when it seems so far.
So stick to the light when you're hardest hit. Its when things seem worse that you must not QUIT!

Do you think you have anything in common with...
• Carla Grantt
• Regina McKinney
• Stephanie Greer
• Elizabeth Brown
• Anita Marshall
You do if you ever graduated from Friendship House/Catherine’s Place – A Home for Healing. All of these people are alumni’s.
We know about them. We want to know about you. Who are you? Where are you? When did you live there? What are you doing now?
Give me a call and let’s share stories and learn more about “The Royal Court”, FH/CP Alumni Group.
Please give me a call at 816.531.7788

Check out this link. It has daily thoughts and experiences in recovery. There is a new post everyday. Could be pretty interesting. http://www.serenityfound.org/quotes/spiritual.html

As part of our ongoing commitment to bring alumni back to interact with our current residents, Friendship House/Catheirne Place Alumni's "The Royal Court" kicked-off its “2nd annual Event, a complimentary evenint of fine dining held at the Sheraton Suites on the Country Club Plaza, Saturday, March 14, 2009 with much success.
“The alumni dinner was an awesome experience. It allowed us an opportunity to fellowship with the ladies that went through the program with us; and to meet other graduates, we exchanged stories about the "here and now" of life (greatttt testimonies). Additionally, the current residents had an opportunity to see that Recovery Is Indeed Possible... It gave them HOPE!

Me myself, “I was thoroughly impressed with all the alumni testimonies.

If you are an alumni and interested in participating in future events, email me at carlag@friendshiphousekc.org or call me at 816.531.7788, ext. 228.
